Pastor Stephen Phillips was called by Liberty Baptist Church to be their Pastor on March 17, 2019 after serving as the Associate Pastor at Bible Baptist Church in Bridgeport, TX for 17 1/2 years.
He was saved at the age of 5 and grew up in church under the preaching of his grandfather, Homer Stout. He and his wife Melissa were married in 1998 and both graduated from Heartland Baptist Bible College in May of 2001.
Pastor Stephen grew up in Colorado, so he is a big Denver Broncos fan. He also enjoys running, having completed 5 marathons and a couple of 200 mile relays. His favorite Bible verse is Hebrews 12:1-2, "...let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus..."
The Phillips' have three sons and one daughter: Nathanael, Micah, Seth, and Makaila.
